Perhaps the "tokens" would be fighters, up to 5 tokens or so

The crew would or could die quickly in the minigame idea I proposed, so you gotta be on top of your game the same way with the machinegun or torpedo launcher... Not sure how the pilot's skills would come into play, perhaps the more experienced a pilot is the faster the attacks are (because they'd presumably attack faster, return faster, land faster)
And so long as one experienced pilot remains (The CAG probably) all of them receive this bonus until the experienced guy bites it.

So I am playing Black Hole level with the tiny ship,
and I have resorted to holing up in the center dodge room, and two weapons rooms while letting the rest of the ship get torn up.

I like having hull damage where enemies are vented into space.

I move medics and my captain around as needed where health or additional firepower is required.

My idea:

Having key locations in the ship where you can open doors and vent enemies into space, at the cost of ship atmosphere.
The atmospheric levels can only be replenished by engineers actually in Engineering.
