Yellow Journalism

Post by justincoombs21 » Fri Dec 28, 2012 7:28 pm

here is a sad piece about how we apparently utterly blew all the money - but in actuality, and the article points out - it was more like spending money on pretty responsible things, and finding out we're gonna need a lot more money.

Honestly we stand by how we spent that money - the game is almost done and we spent it on very valuable items.

The problem with site like this is that they go for what sounds best so they could move more traffic and not the truth. They forget to add the no show's cut your funding in half. Also like you pointed out you guys gave details as to what was the money use on. This all will be a laughable piece once the game is out and is selling well. I know it will sell well bud.

What eddy said: All about the traffic.

I think being honest definitely paid off: Eg gamasutra highlighted that blog update:

Star Command dev shares realities of costs after Kickstarter funding

eg:
Thanks for sharing, War Balloon. This sort of info is gold for anyone considering doing a Kickstarter of their own.
In the comments. "Honesty is the way forward." :)

Pathfinder Online took this lead with their tech demo - good call.

Thank you my good friend Rogue

I do hope people learn that kick-starters are even harder then getting a loan from any financial institution. Since the loan gives you time to pay it back compare to a kick-starters supporters that demand the product ASAP

People like those do anything to get people on their site so they can get more traffic, eg. more money
