How about a small room (or maybe a bridge upgrade) that adds a Sensor Bay? Provides a great excuse for not being able to see inside enemy ships AND a great way to incorporate the ability to do so.
All I know is this Lo-Pan character comes out of nowhere...while his buddies are flying around on wires cuttin' everybody to shreds and he just stands there, waiting for me to drive my truck straight through him with light coming out of his mouth?

I like the idea, fog of war I liked the idea but I wish it can be turned on or off. A sensor room can be a great way to turn FoW on or off.

There'll definitely be scanning (revealing FoW or other aspects). Not sure in what form yet (whether it's an object's capability or something else).
